Here, then, is the well-drunk key to close the series. I am still unsure if this is an emptied bottle of Krug or an generously-proportioned expression of the ultimate coupette, filled to the brim with ice-cold martini or enticingly effervescent champagne. Though I lean towards the latter.

Like all of my favourite simple or classic serves, she is a vessel of projection: a mystery for unravelling, a friend for listening, a fiend for summoning.

She is clearly grand. Her waters turbulent and deep and ancient.

Where my photography often presents a frozen, timeless version of a perfected occasion, by contrast these new Vessel pieces explore a more open expression of movement and an ageing acceptance of the passing of time.
